Baker Testing can perform Magnetic Particle Inspection on a broad range of applications, both in-house and at field locations, using a variety of equipment and techniques.

Ideal for locating discontinuities at or near the surface of ferromagnetic materials, MT or MPI can resolve cracks and other flaws that are not detectable by visual inspection.

Using probes and coils to magnetize material in multiple directions, magnetic particle inspectors apply fine iron particles to inspection surfaces that are drawn to flaws by the leakage they cause in the magnetic field. Colored particles can be applied in dry powder form for inspection in normal light conditions, or for enhanced sensitivity, fluorescent particles suspended in liquid can be viewed under ultra- violet lighting to locate even the smallest discontinuity.

From one to thousands of items, our in-house inspection facilities can accommodate a wide range of part sizes and shapes. For field inspections, individuals or teams of technicians use portable and hand held devices to inspect most any part or surface that can be magnetized. With this highly sensitive and cost effective inspection method, customers are assured of adherence to industry quality standards.
