Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Baker Testing can perform Liquid Penetrant Inspection on a wide range of materials and applications, both in-house and at field locations. Liquid penetrant inspection has been an industrial testing standard for decades and remains one of the most reliable, efficient, and cost effective methods for detecting surface flaws in non-porous materials that may not be detected by standard visual inspection methods.

Ideal for locating discontinuities open to material surfaces, Liquid Penetrant Inspection has few limits in size, shape, or composition of items to be inspected. This test process saturates inspection surfaces with a highly penetrating dye that will enter even the most minute surface discontinuities. After sufficient penetration time, the excess dye is removed and a developing agent is applied to assist the bleed-out and contrast of dye retained in flaws for evaluation.

Baker Testing offers visible and fluorescent dye penetrant inspections that can be performed for spot checks of individual items or full coverage of part production for quality control and cost savings.
